120711-1The risks of using non-FDA approved products need to be considered before having a filler injection. “Expression” is a hyaluronic acid based filler that was FDA approved for use as an internal splint after nose surgery. However, some injectors were using it as a facial filler. Now reports of complications prompted the FDA to issue a warning. Before having a filler treatment, ask your plastic surgeon if it is approved by the FDA as a soft tissue filler or dermal filler, and not just approved for another use.
